Cameron Hogan, Founder

Cameron is the Founder of Beyond The Box. Drawing on his over 17 years of consulting and professional experience, Cameron has developed a company dedicated to leveraging the power of human capital. Leveraging the power of people has been achieved through specific techniques that involve business planning and alignment, leadership development, as well as innovative and proprietary applications of Organizational Development.

Cameron has worked extensively with a variety of industries including media, manufacturing, banking, high-tech, and health care. He also has extensive experience in the Federal marketplace. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, management and leadership development, change management, business and financial training, business process redesign and organizational development.

He has particular experience in developing high-performance teams in rapidly growing organizations.



John P. Rockstroh, Sr. - Sr. Partner

Since 1976 John has devoted much of his professional career to helping corporate America achieve and hold measurable gains in productivity and quality improvement. Augmenting his consulting expertise in all facets of productivity and quality improvement are his demonstrated skills in helping organizations develop and implement a distinctive strategy.

His capabilities include training design and delivery, change management, negotiation and collaboration, public speaking, project management and work redesign. John pioneered the "Powerful Transitions" process within a Fortune 100 company and has continued to use it successfully.

He completed work at McGill University, Montreal, in sociotechnical systems design; and, most notably, was asked to return in subsequent years to be a guest lecturer at the STS College.

John is a certified Jonah, having studied the theory of constraints at the Goldratt Institute in New Haven, CT. He has applied that knowledge successfully in a number of companies, with documented results. His clients span almost every segment of business-public, private, government, manufacturing and service organizations.

For several years John was a member of the Board of Advisors for the Maryland Center for Quality and Productivity and was a director of the American Society for Performance Improvement at the national level and president of the Maryland chapter. He also served 4 terms as president of the Engineers Club of Sparrows Point. John has been a featured speaker at numerous prestigious organizations, including the O.D. Network National Conference and the IAQC's National Conference. He holds a B.S. degree in business administration from Loyola College.



Mary Wilson - Sr. Partner

Mary's extensive experience as a business consultant, senior manager and training professional spans more than 25 years. Her expertise includes leadership development, performance feedback, executive coaching, teambuilding, interpersonal communication, conflict management, group facilitation and business/financial literacy. Mary has assisted clients in organizations ranging from heavy manufacturing to food processing/distribution to government and the non-profit sector.

Significant client projects have included: designing and facilitating a strategic planning and teambuilding process for the senior management team of a manufacturing organization; facilitating a customer/supplier "shared expectations" process that enhanced the business partnership between a regional fast-food restaurant cooperative and its advertising agency; consulting to a major work redesign effort at a large steel plant; and consulting to a cross-functional team of executives charged with developing a "people strategy" for a start-up food company.

As assistant vice president, people development, at Keystone Foods (largest supplier to McDonald's), she was a key contributor to the start-up and ongoing implementation of the company's Total Quality effort, which became a model for other companies within the McDonald's system. Her background also includes a variety of positions in human resources development and employee communication at Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

Mary is an adjunct professor in the Leadership Development Institute at Northampton Community College and a Certified Mediator from the Center for Solutions, Denver.



Barbara Kunaniec Bertling - Partner

Barbara has worked as an internal and external process consultant, facilitator and trainer for over 20 years with clients in steel, mining, manufacturing, construction, banking, and education, as well as federal, state and local governments.

She is experienced in the design, development and implementation of major change efforts in both large and small organizations. Her work has included team building, partnering, change management, project management, organizational assessment, work redesign, interpersonal skill development and internal resource development.

Barbara has consulted with organizations to increase productivity, reduce costs and increase competitiveness. She has also helped both management and unions to improve their product quality and effectiveness. She has been a key participant in a number of major change initiatives in industry both as a manager and as an internal facilitator/consultant.

Barbara holds a B. A. degree in organizational communication from the College of Notre Dame and a Fellows in Change Management from Johns Hopkins University. She served 2 terms as a chapter president of the American Society for Performance Improvement.



Robert Lating - Sr. Consultant

Robert has over 20 years experience with a variety of clients and a strong background in manufacturing excellence. He has vast experience in the design, development and implementation of major change efforts in both large and small corporate environments.

Robert is a certified Jonah, having studied the theory of constraints through the Goldratt Institute in New Haven, CT.



Ernie Turnes, Sr. Consultant

Ernie has over 30 years experience in a wide variety of organizational development challenges. In his career he has dealt with numerous and challenging change management initiatives. He has a vast experience in the design, development and implementation of major change efforts in both large and small corporate environments.

Ernie is a certified Jonah, having studied the theory of constraints through the Goldratt Institute in New Haven, CT. He has taught management courses at two local community colleges and has served as president of several clubs and organizations in the community. He holds a BS degree from the University of Maryland and an MSA degree from George Washington University.



James White, President Next Level Consultants - Partnering Consultant

Jim has over 25 years of professional experience leading and managing training, organization development and leadership development projects in the public and private sectors. He has demonstrated international experience in project implementation and monitoring, training needs assessments, workshop design and development, training of trainers, curriculum development, group facilitation, training evaluation, strategic planning, and project management (including USAID and World Bank projects in Egypt, India and Indonesia) in over 25 countries.

He is highly regarded for his ability to collaborate with clients to design and develop exceptionally effective workshops, seminars and strategic planning events.

Engagements include collaboration with clients on long-term program design and implementation. He has conducted needs assessments nationwide; created tailored workshops based on the unique leadership challenges of the client; and also facilitated the workshops.

Recent leadership development engagements include the US Customs Service; the Navy's Office of Civilian Personnel Management; the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia and the Chief of Naval Operations.



William Fleishman, Owner Strategic Results Network - Partnering Consultant

Bill has more than 25 years experience providing professional consulting services to private, non-profit and public sector clients. As a Senior Director for several major international consulting and technology firms, and as the owner of his own firm, Strategic Results Network, he has developed the unique skills to:

  • Conduct business assessments and design systems requirements
  • Develop financial justifications for enterprise-wide systems
  • Develop multi-year strategic plans that include marketing, communications and investment action plans
  • Create organizational advisory and mentoring programs to continually evaluate and update the action plans.
Bill has conducted numerous business strategy, change management and project management workshops as well as serving as a key member of organizational merger teams to help successfully merge three separate Fortune 500 international organizations. In addition, he has assisted numerous organizations in facilitating off-site planning sessions to formulate and gain stakeholder, management and staff consensus for organization-wide investment plans, marketing and communications programs, and enterprise-wide systems planning.
